Groupe GA to build an industrial property complex for american giant Lord Corporation at Pont-de-l’Isère

This new project entrusted to Groupe GA is destined to house the first industrial production unit in Europe of Lord Corporation’s subsidiary “Fly By Wire”. By creating a new site, the US group will further strengthen its presence in aeronautics. Fly by Wire develops and manufactures flight deck control systems, absorbers, sensors and electromechanical actuators for electrical flight control systems in commercial aviation.

This project, designed by agency CDA Architectes, consists of a first building of a surface area of 8,000 m², 7,000 m² of which will be dedicated to the production plant and 1,000 m² to offices, over a plot of 4 hectares with the option to extend.

Based on the original project specifications supplied by Fly By Wire, GA is fully invested with its OMEGA integrated design office and a true Lean Production approach to optimise the configuration of the building.

Besides their bioclimatic design, the offices of this property complex will have ultra-efficient equipment, managed by Galaxy Pilot®, the monitoring and management software developed by Groupe GA.

Temperature, light and ventilation will therefore be monitored and adjusted in real-time to optimise the comfort and environmental performance of the building.

Like all projects carried out by Groupe GA, the building will be developed using the FullBIM modelling software. The model, which is a true digital embodiment of the building, will provide a unique understanding of the project at each phase of execution: from design to factory and site execution, including the operation of the building. On its handover, which is scheduled for May 2018, the FullBIM model will contain all the information relating to the equipment, operating manuals, maintenance manuals and warranties.
