We have won the Top LCL-GreenFlex Award in the “Energy transition and low carbon” category for our future head office in Toulouse!

11.12.2023

We won the Top LCL-GreenFlex Award in the “Energy transition and low carbon” category for our new head office, which is being built in the heart of the Toulouse Aerospace district.

The Top LCL-GreenFlex Award is organised by the LCL Banque des Entreprises Group and GreenFlex, a start-up specialising in sustainable development. The Top Award for Engaged Enterprises, awarded annually to the most promising and innovative projects in various categories such as the circular economy or biodiversity, rewards the most original and inspiring environmental initiatives.

At the award ceremony that took place Thursday, 7 December 2023, we were awarded the Top LCL-GreenFlex Award in the “Energy transition and low carbon” category for our future head office in Toulouse, a true demonstration of a decarbonised building. This award demonstrates the relevance of our sustainable and responsible strategy. In fact, from the design phase, we focused on adapting the building to the climate of tomorrow, while continuing to mitigate its carbon impact.

Going further, this LCL-GreenFlex Award gives even more impact to our commitment to revolutionise real estate and construction!

Our future head office will take shape on the “Piste des Géants”, the cradle of civil aviation located near the Halle de la Machine and in the heart of the urban district of Toulouse Aerospace, in a mixed urban environment, a combined location for living, work, culture and leisure.

Opening onto the “Piste des Géants”, the building’s ground floor is designed to be a dynamic space, similar to the lobby of a hotel, offering a range of facilities, including an organic restaurant with a Do-It-Yourself kitchen, a concierge service, a health and fitness area, an auditorium, a library, a shopping area, a bar and more. Innovative and inviting, this vibrant area will feature daily events and entertainment (including breakfasts, conferences, after-work get-togethers, work photoshoots, pop-up events, as well as DIY workshops). It is also designed to host parties and special occasions.

It is a prelude to a new generation of post-carbon buildings. It is really vital to develop a carbon emissions strategy to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels as much as possible, thereby satisfying the requirements of the RE2020. Bioclimatic design, off-site construction, wooden structures, reuse and installation of high-performance equipment — everything has been thought out to adapt to climate change and enter the era of post-carbon real estate without compromising the occupants’ level of comfort or the project’s aesthetic.

The real estate complex also participated in the development of the Circolab reuse label as a pilot operation. This is the first label that promotes circular economy projects in the real estate and construction sector.

Our new head office is aiming for energy excellence, in keeping with Agua – the current head office – which was the first tertiary building in France to obtain the BEPOS (Bâtiment à énergie positive [Positive energy building]) Effinergie® label and which, six years after its completion, continues to produce more energy than it uses. It incorporates a number of different energy sources and will be managed by the latest generation of Galaxy Pilot software, in addition to an artificial intelligence module. This has been developed with the CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives [French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission]), and will monitor the availability of energy sources (geothermal, solar power, etc.), its carbon impact and its cost, with a view to optimising consumption and levelling out peaks. The real estate complex was also selected in the “NoWatt” tender process managed by the Occitanie region.

This is therefore yet another Award for our future head office which had already been awarded the Silver Trophy for the most innovative operation in the “developer” category at the SIATI (Sommet de l’immobilier, Aménagement des Territoires & Innovation [French Infrastructure, Urban Development and Real Estate summit]) 2021.

Our teams will have the chance to move into our future head office in early 2024!
