In Montélimar, GA Smart Building is modernising the Würth France logistics platform and extending it by 5,600 m².

Located in the Portes de Provence ZAC (zone d’aménagement concerté) [joint development zone]) in Montélimar (26), the current 25,000 m² platform of the family-owned Würth group, which specialises in tools and equipment for trades and professionals, is part of a vast modernisation and expansion project called “Evolog” aimed at strengthening the company’s logistics capacities.

The modernisation of the logistics platform and its extension, which covers 5,600 m², were designed by Sight and carried out by the GA Smart Building teams on an occupied site.

The project to modernise Würth France’s existing logistics platform addresses the challenges of integrating the group’s process and mechanisation. It also takes into account the environmental challenges we face in terms of global warming and threats to life, with particular attention paid to water management on the plot.

The modernisation and extension of the Würth France logistics site in Montélimar includes:

  • The extension of the administrative building, with the extension of the women’s changing rooms on the ground floor and the addition of a meeting room, and the creation of a call centre on the first floor
  • Increasing the number of exit ramps and relocating existing ramps
  • Optimisation of the area comprising the dispatch office, the driver’s room and the refuse bin room
  • Isolation of existing docks so they are less subject to weather conditions, including wind
  • The installation of photovoltaic panels in shade fields on the extension of the parking dedicated to light vehicles

The extension project of the Würth logistics platform in Montélimar will feature the off-site construction process that GA Smart Building is known for. Its structural elements are produced in the Group’s Prega concrete prefabrication plants, then sent to the site for assembly. This industrial approach to construction, incorporated right from the design phase, makes it possible to reduce deadlines, environmental impact and also disturbance for Würth France employees, as the work is carried out while the site continues to operate. It also guarantees perfect compliance with the design and extremely precise execution.

The project anticipates the constraints linked to the evolution of the ICPE (Installations Classées pour la Protection de l’Environnement [Installations Classified for the Protection of the Environment]) in relation to the increase in storage volume and the development of operations.

A new opportunity to showcase GA Smart Building’s expertise in the construction of off-site logistics sites, the extension of the Würth logistics platform and the modernisation of the existing part will be delivered in August 2023 after only 11 months of work.
