International Women’s Day was the starting point for a week of workplace gender equality awareness-raising at the company, which ended with the distribution of a survey to all our employees so that we might learn their expectations and continue our work. Let’s review!
Every day, we strive to motivate our positive community, one of the pillars of our sustainable and responsible #weBuildforLife strategy, through employee buy-in and commitment. The survey we sent them is a valuable barometer of their opinions with regard to workplace gender equality. It consisted of questions on investment in the work/life sphere (equality in the distribution of administrative tasks, housework, childcare, work-life balance, etc.), professional ambition, knowledge of our new collective agreement on workplace gender equality, the perception of equal treatment (working conditions, remuneration, bonus, promotions, access to positions of responsibility and to all types of jobs within the Group, respect, etc.) and the perception of the Group’s involvement in the matter. If we could take away just 3 points, they would be:
Work/life balance
86% of our employees report that they easily balance their professional and personal lives*. Among other things, they overwhelmingly prefer teleworking, offered for up to 2 days per week (except during a public health crisis), as well as the workload organisation made possible within agile teams.
Professional Ambition
Good news! 73% of our employees find fulfilment in their work*! And the frosting on the cake is that a third of them have found their dream job at GA*! This is a very important point for us, and we are working to sustain this fulfilment. One of the key factors of fulfilment? Skills development! Because we consider lifelong learning to be a factor in the development of society as a whole and the Group, in particular, we allow everyone to benefit from professional training at any stage of their career to gain autonomy, skills, and access to advancement opportunities. In our real estate and construction sector, which is showing strong growth, we are all the more attentive to personal development and organisational issues. We will encourage internal mobility for our employees to allow them to progress and broaden their spheres of action.
GA Smart Building’s involvement in promoting workplace gender equality
77% of our employees believe that GA is ahead of or on schedule in terms of workplace gender equality*. And it’s a safe bet that it will be even better for those working in our future head office. Indeed, our future building will reflect the Group’s social policy favouring workplace gender equality and equal opportunities. In particular, it will have parking spaces reserved for pregnant women and a breastfeeding room, etc.
