Structural works are now complete at My Atlantis. To mark the occasion, we brought together Safran Electronics & Defense, ECDM Architectes, our partners and our teams for a traditional gigot bitume, a French construction industry custom celebrating structural completion.
My Atlantis enters its final construction phase
In Massy, we are delivering a 17,500 m² development designed by ECDM Architectes for Safran Electronics & Defense. This is our second project for the company, following its Malakoff development. The new site will bring together 800 employees from Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Data Systems and Safran Trusted 4D.
Designed to meet the requirements of a leading industrial company, it will accommodate offices and laboratories alongside logistics, storage and technical facilities. The design prioritises ease of movement and occupant comfort, with collaborative spaces, durable materials and ample natural light.
The gigot bitume celebrates a longstanding construction tradition
To celebrate this symbolic milestone, we shared a traditional gigot bitume with Safran Electronics & Defense, ECDM Architectes, our partners and everyone working on the site.
This gathering reflects a tradition deeply rooted in the French construction industry.
Originating among asphalt workers in the late nineteenth century, the custom involves cooking a carefully wrapped leg of lamb in a still-hot bitumen boiler. Over time, it has become a shared celebration of structural completion and an opportunity to thank everyone contributing to a project’s success.
Our off-site construction model supports delivery at My Atlantis
At My Atlantis, we are applying our off-site approach to meet the requirements of this complex project. It combines consistent workmanship with reliable delivery schedules and strong environmental performance.
Our PREGA factories manufactured 525 columns and 406 beams totalling almost three kilometres in length, as well as 183 façade panels produced in collaboration with Paquet Fontaine.
The project also advances façade manufacturing. The sandblasted low-carbon concrete panels were fully assembled in the factory, with windows and air inlets incorporated before delivery to site. This innovation extends the scope of prefabrication and helps deliver the project within just 18 months.
My Atlantis also pursues ambitious environmental goals. Aligned with the EU Taxonomy’s sustainability criteria, the project meets the 2025 RE2020 threshold. Green roofs, rainwater infiltration basins and locally adapted planting support biodiversity.
The project is now entering its final construction phase ahead of handover, scheduled by the end of 2026.
