GA Smart Building is hosting an art exhibition in its Paris offices, celebrating major figures of cinema and music from the 1960s to the 1980s — a tribute to pop culture and collective memory.
For several years now, GA Smart Building has partnered with Renting Art, an agency specialized in leasing artworks to businesses, to bring art into the everyday life of its Paris offices. This collaboration is part of a unique and participatory cultural approach: every six months, a new exhibition is installed, continuously renewing the artistic experience in the workplace.
With each new edition, the Renting Art team curates a selection of artworks based on a specific theme, which is then submitted to employee vote. This collective moment encourages everyone to express themselves, discover contemporary artists, and contribute to the visual and cultural identity of the space.
A pop culture photo exhibition across the decades
From early July 2025 until the end of the year, contemporary art takes center stage with the photography exhibition Icons of Cinema and Music. From Woodstock to the streets of Paris, from the Beatles to Gainsbourg, this exhibition celebrates the vibrant energy of generations of artists who helped shape our collective imagination.
The photographs, taken from 1960s to 1980s press magazines, capture the evocative power of historic moments: Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo on the set of Borsalino, Jimi Hendrix live at the Olympia, or the Beatlemania captured at the Trocadéro. The exhibition offers a true journey through time — through glances, stances, and frozen moments that continue to inspire.
Between tribute and contemporary creation
Alongside these archival images, French artist Sunset presents a unique work paying tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat. Etched in steel, the sculpture combines oriental calligraphy, visual poetry, and bold graphic expression. It creates a resonance between urban art and global artistic icons.
