Arriving in November 2022 as Deputy Director of the South-West Promotion, Sondès Smaoui has been appointed head of the Department following the retirement of France Vidal.
Sondès Smaoui will be responsible for designing sustainable off-site real estate development projects in the Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions. With the support of her team, she will oversee the development and structuring of new real estate projects, as well as their marketing to investors and end-users.
A graduate of HEC Paris, Sondès began her career with the Bouygues Group, first at Construction Privée as a development officer, then at Bouygues Construction as a project finance manager for infrastructure and real estate projects. She continued her career in Toulouse with Linkcity as Deputy Program Director, where she developed commercial and residential projects. She then joined M Capital Partners as Director of Real Estate Investments, where she led the expansion and management of the real estate investment division at the national level.
I’m proud to take on the role of leading Property Development for the South-West region at GA Smart Building, and grateful to Marc Daumas for the trust he’s placed in me to help tackle the major structural challenges facing our industry. Faced with the urgent need to adapt to climate change, protect biodiversity, and address growing societal and social challenges, I’m convinced we’re at a turning point in the way we envision real estate projects. Thanks to our expertise in off-site construction, we’re in a strong position to move faster and further in developing projects that are meaningful for our clients and low-impact for the planet. I’m delighted to appoint Sondès as head of Property Development for the South-West region at GA Smart Building. She steps into this role following an outstanding transition period with France Vidal, to whom I wish a wonderful retirement and extend my heartfelt thanks for her many exceptional years of leadership, marked most recently by the delivery of Niwa, our new low-carbon headquarters. With her deep understanding of the real estate and construction sectors, and her combined expertise in architecture, engineering, and finance, along with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, I have every confidence that Sondès will drive forward a new generation of sustainable and responsible real estate projects, built off-site.
