GA Smart Building announces the appointment of David Bruchon as Director of Engineering, responsible for leading the division that brings together expertise in innovation, digitalization, and environmental performance — the technical and strategic core of the Group’s off-site platform.
As such, he joins the Executive Committee of GA Smart Building and will oversee the following departments:
- The Research & Development Team, supported by an annual investment of over €2 million, focused on creating increasingly innovative and sustainable off-site solutions to support the Group’s operations.
- Omega, the integrated design office, which has provided technical expertise for over 50 years on off-site construction projects, from design to completion, with full mastery of BIM (Building Information Modeling).
- The BIM Department, which has been modeling all GA projects for over a decade. A cornerstone of the Group’s off-site construction approach, BIM enables full digitalization of projects, ensuring better team coordination, greater precision in design and production phases, and significantly reduced costs and lead times. During the operational phase, BIM also facilitates technical management and predictive maintenance, helping to optimize building performance throughout their lifecycle.
- The Energy and Environment Department, responsible for ensuring the environmental performance of projects and overseeing the Group’s climate strategy, which has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
I am pleased to welcome David Bruchon. Off-site construction is the future of the building and renovation sector. I am convinced that David’s recognized expertise in timber and low-carbon engineering, his ability to lead complex and innovative projects, and his strategic vision will help us accelerate the essential transition of our industry, particularly through the consolidation of key expertise within the Engineering division.
I am delighted to join GA Smart Building, a company recognized for its technical excellence and strong low-carbon commitment in real estate and construction. I look forward to actively contributing to the Group’s sustainable strategy, particularly by strengthening the core services of the off-site platform and developing innovative solutions to meet today’s environmental and societal challenges.
A graduate of the National School for Wood Technologies and Industries (ENSTIB), David Bruchon has extensive experience in engineering and property development. He began his career at Sylva Conseil, a specialist in timber, before heading the timber engineering division at TERRELL. In 2017, he joined Icade Promotion as Head of Dry Construction, later becoming National Technical & CSR Director, before joining GA Smart Building.
